Born and raised in North Quincy, Massachusetts and an Irishman to the core, Hugh McGowan was a man who would not hesitate to lend a hand to a friend or stranger in need.  Ask his family, his childhood friends or any number of musicians, artists and free spirited travelers that encountered Hugh along the way and you won't find an ill word served.  He was a positive and friendly force of nature and a legendary pillar of a thriving music town. 

Whether he was singing, playing his guitar, sitting behind the drums or even simply walking down the street, the feel of melody and harmony exuded from Hugh's soul and it was contagious. He had a charm that was energetic, enticing and always left your spirit higher than you were.

Hugh was our best friend, our partner, our inspiration and he will be sorely missed.
